Earth Tech and its related companies have invested $100 million in water recycling in Australia. Earh Tech's Virginia Pipeline Scheme in South Australia paved the way for water recycling as Australia's first and one of the world's largest high-quality water recycling schemes. Earth Tech also conducted Australia's first trial of on-site water recycling, or 'sewer mining', using membrane bioreactor technology.
Earth Tech's Eastern Irrigation Scheme won a 2006 International Water Association Project Innovation Award and features Australia's largest ultrafiltration water recycling treatment plant.
